For 22 winters I’ve been coming to this very special place in the Transition Zone of the Northern Sonoran Desert. Some winters for only a couple of weeks. Others for months on end.
At 4,000 feet in elevation, anything can happen with the weather….and does.
Special places exist because we want them to. Special places exist because we need them to. Anyone who has traveled and spent time outside keeps these places sacred. Remembers them but rarely shares them. There’s over a thousand acres in Arizona that is that place to me. For more than two thousand nights I’ve become truly intimate with this place. It’s exhaling and inhaling, its mood swings…it’s life. I hope everyone who travels and explores finds there own private Arizona.
Got something to say? Lemeno.
