The Italians have an expression. Il dolce far niente. The sweetness of doing nothing. It’s an art form worth savoring. Americans call it killing time. A crude way to explain something that needs more understanding and acceptance. The faster we go the more we need to slow down. The more we multi-task, the more we need to stop and focus on simple things. Try doing something for the sheer enjoyment of it, not to be better or faster at it. When you can’t catch your breath, stop and take one. Sometimes we try so hard to get everything done that nothing is accomplished. So, the next time the world is going by a little too fast….stop and let it
