Where were you?

It’s the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. I was a junior in high school and my parents wouldn’t have anything to do with that kind of music. I played violin in the high school orchestra and the orchestra director, a very cool guy, brought the album in to class. The acoustics in the orchestra room were amazing. Mr. Ellis, the director played the entire album. We discussed the intricacies of the album and its production, especially for that time in the music industry. I’ll never forget. It was a full two years later after I had left for college before I could own such a coveted piece of history.
