I’ve always had a low tolerance for bullshit. And in deference to that, I’ve always had a great respect for intelligence, kindness and soulful perseverance. One of the biggest lines of bullshit (besides the current Republican party) is that Alcoholism is a disease. Bullshit. Parkinson’s is a disease. Alzheimer’s is a disease. ALS is a disease. A disease has no truly diagnosed cause. And generally only the symptoms can be treated. Alcoholism has a cause. People drink too much. Alcoholism also has a cure. Stop drinking. Granted alcohol has the ability to change the body’s chemistry to the point that it needs more alcohol, similar to a lot of recreational drugs. And just like recreational drugs, the cause is stupidity of the brain and weakness of the soul. Now trust me, I’m no saint. I’ve been a falling-down example of stupidity of the brain and weakness of the soul. I’m human. But one thing that human’s have over most other creatures is the ability to overcome stupidity and weakness. Or as my grandmother would have put it, “everything in moderation”.

Now I may get some flak for this stream of illusional consciousness but so what. I’m just saying.
